TURN-TAKING IN DAEBAK SHOW PODCAST SEASON 3 (2023)

This research is conducted to analyze the turn taking strategy and thefunction of turn taking strategy in Daebak Show Season 3 podcast. There are twoproblems statement in this research: (1) What is the turn taking strategy used bythe host to the guest stars? (2) What are the function the use of turn taking inDaebak Show Season 3 Podcast?The researcher used the qualitative method to analyze the problem. Ananalytical description will be provided in answer to the research questions. Thetheory and approaches that the researcher used is Pragmatics, ConversationAnalysis, and Turn Taking. The result of this study show that (1) there are threetypes of strategies were identified in the podcast conversation are taking the turn,holding the turn, and yielding the turn. (2) The function that used in Daebak ShowSeason 3 are starting up, taking over, interrupting, filled pause and verbal fillers,silent pause, lexical repetition, new start, prompting strategy and appealingstrategy.
